Bridge Collapse

We are alive and well. It’s just awful, though. I can’t wrap my head around it. I drive over bridges all the time thanking God that I live in Minnesota. This doesn’t happen here; and certainly not in the Twin Cities. We have great infrastructure and lots of regulation. It is so terrible.

LOOK at [Ken's blog.](http://www.kpmartin.com/2007/08/01/were-all-fine/) Seriously.

UPDATE: Thank you ladies! I guess the recent reports are challenging my assumptions. There are lots of bridges in need of updating. Sure the chances of this happening again are small; and there are sure to be “other things” that if left un-addressed could cost more lives… Glad I’m not a legislator/secretary of transportation/bridge inspector.

But it’s all so sad. And unsettling. And from a purely analytical standpoint, the long-range MAJOR DISRUPTION that not having 35W will cause from a day-to-day life perspective is amazing.

One DOT guy said, “We don’t have a spare 35W.”

(Sorry no links - trying to cook, mother, etc..)

Wow! Such a tradegy! Makes you think like is so short. Any man made thing is never without risk. God is the only strong tower. Lifting prayers! Glad things are good your way. We should never get annoyed by delays, you never know what God has in mind.
    Much love to you!
