It’s so close I can feel the heat of the candles burning my eyelashes.

I wasn’t looking forward to turning 30 ten years ago - I like this less. But my 30’s turned out to be the best decade of my life, so far.

Just the other day I was told that I’d feel “set free” by my 40’s. Anyone out there have any encouragement along those lines? Anyone have a dream come true after 40 - especially one they never expected to see fulfilled?

    First, she’s not joking about the candles.

    Since I’m not there yet, I speak with no authority - and likely I’ll have no authority then, either - but I feel like we’re just getting to the point where we are old enough to not worry so much about self-image and position and things like that, but are young enough to still have good health and energy.

    And my dreams came true about 13 years ago. :)
